Q: Corey, what makes the Super Slicer so unique?

Corey Milligan: The Super Slicer is the finest slicing knife we’ve ever made, hands down. It’s built on our Chris Kidder Special 12-inch blade—a long, strong blade designed for precision. Think of Japanese sushi knives; their length is key to making a clean, continuous cut. That’s the principle here: with the Super Slicer’s length, you can glide through food in one stroke, preserving the shape and texture without any crushing.

 

Q: And I understand this knife features a custom serration?

That’s right. The Super Slicer has a proprietary serration pattern, unlike anything else on the market. We actually designed and built our own machine to create this specific serration, which allows for incredible control and versatility. The blade has three serrations in one: at the front, the teeth lean forward to grab and initiate the cut; in the middle, they’re symmetrical for a smooth glide; and in the back, they lean toward the rear to complete the cut seamlessly as you pull back. It’s an entirely new approach to serration, and the results are phenomenal.

Q: What kind of foods does this knife excel at slicing?

This knife is ideal for a variety of slicing tasks, not just bread. For anyone who’s been diving into homemade sourdough, it’s the ultimate bread knife—it handles even the toughest crusts without compressing the loaf. Q: What materials are used to make the Super Slicer?

As with all of our knives, the Super Slicer is crafted with the best materials available. The blade is made from CPM S35VN particle metallurgy steel, which is known for its toughness, edge retention, and stain resistance. It’s the same elite steel we use across our line. The handle is made from desert ironwood, a beautiful and incredibly durable natural material that will last a lifetime. Together, they create a knife that’s as resilient as it is refined.
